What are the minimal links to meet these requirements?

An architect needs to plan the bandwidth for two Aruba 7240 Mobility Controllers (MCs) which will connect to the network core. The customer indicates that four 10 GbE links between the network core and the data center will be adequate. The customer expects almost all traffic in the network will be wireless. The customer expects up to 25 Gbps upstream traffic from wireless clients and up to 35 Gbps downstream to wireless clients. The customer requires the MCs to be able to continue to forward traffic if up to one link fails, but lower performance during the failover situation is permissible.
What are the minimal links to meet these requirements?
A. two 10 GbE links on each of the MC
B. two 40 GbE links in each of the MCs
C. three 10 GbE links on each of the MCs
D. four 10 GbE links on each of the MCs.

  1. Answer is C. Total Bandwidth required is 25gb + 35gb = 60gb (minimum) so 30gb each is the minimum and 7210 only supports 10gbE not 40gbE
    D. Actually is also a right answer but the question asked for minimal links.

    1
    2
  2. According to the design guide and study guide. Links to MCs should be twice the amount of data center links because traffic flows to and from the MCs. Clustering aside, if you lose a MC, you will need the minimum to support which is 40, after losing one of the links.

    1. Yes, but if the MC’s are in a cluster and load balancing, and the question asks minimal, wouldn’t A be accurate? 2x10gb links per controller, would total the 40gb requirement??
