What is the reason for this issue?

A phone is assigned to a partition that is included in the CSS HQ-Phone. This partition contains a route pattern to block calls to service numbers 1-400- xxx-xxxx. When the engineer makes a test call to the number 1-400-400-9000 from that phone, the call goes through. What is the reason for this issue?
A. The route pattern for the number to be blocked is in partition not accessible to the CSS.
B. The correct route list is not selected in the route pattern for the dialed number to be blocked.
C. The correct gateway is not selected for the route list for the route pattern for the dialed number to be blocked.
D. The route pattern for the number to be blocked is in “NULL” partition.
E. The route pattern is misconfigured.

  1. A is correct, it is not enough for both phone and RP to belong to the same partition. If the CSS does not contain the partition even thou they share it, it will not reach the route pattern.

  2. Tested this in the LAB,

A is wrong (block means block)
    B – D gets overwritten by block

E is correct based on CUCM tests

  3. E is the answer

The question is specifing that the phone is included is the same partition of the route pattern

  4. I think the answer is D. The Null partition means the route pattern hasn’t got a partition configured i.e. no restrictions, Therefore regardless of what CSS you have you will always have access to the NUL partition

  5. Does not make sense. If it is A then you cannot even dial that number. The call went through. It could be E because during configuration forgot to select Block call option.
