at the co I used to work at, I used to manage cisco IDS4210s which are configured to automatically to create VACL on switches when there’s intrusion detection.
I dont think C is correct. IDS analyzes the network traffic but does not stop attacks. A firewall can be configured to do many things, to stop traffic for example. If it is a NGFW it can have IPS functionality.
I think B is correct.
