What should the Scrum Master do?

Five new Scrum Teams have been created to build one product. A few of the developers on one of the Development Teams ask the Scrum Master how to coordinate their work with the order teams. What should the Scrum Master do?
A. Teach the Product Owner to work with the lead developers on ordering Product Backlog in a way to avoid too much technical and development overlap during a Sprint.
B. Teach them that it is their responsibility to work with the other teams to create an integrated increment.
C. Collect the Sprint tasks from the teams at the end of their Sprint Planning and merge that into a consolidated plan for the entire Sprint.
D. Visit the five teams each day to inspect that their Sprint Backlogs are aligned.

  1. From the Scrum Guide:
A: “Within a Scrum Team, there are no sub-teams or hierarchies” => It has not sense to talk about ‘Lead Developers’
C: “The Developers are always accountable for: Creating a plan for the Sprint, the Sprint Backlog;” => The Scrum Master can’t create a ‘consolidated plan for the entire Sprint’.
D: “The Scrum Master is accountable for the Scrum Team’s effectiveness”. => Visiting the teams could help, but said so, sound more to a vigilant than to a coach…
B: “The Scrum Master serves the Scrum Team […] Coaching the team members in self-management […]” => The B option match this statement of Scrum Guide, as well as the mentioned in D.

So, the most correct answer is B.

  3. but here its different scrum team. Developers can co-ordinate and work within themselves if it was the same team, but to get information and co-ordination from other scrum team it will definitely need help from the scrum master ??

Maria your 2 cents on this ???

  4. Of course “B” is the correct answer. Not ‘I think’ or ‘it should’ YES, B, is the right answer.
