  1. Abusher is correct. If asked for one answer I would go with A, if asked for any number of choices, I would go with ABC.

    You can have site codes for different extensions without changing them by using translation patterns with the new CSS pointing to the new partition of the site that has the overlap.

  2. Hello guys, this question is kinda ambiguous, because IF by saying “centralized dial plan” they mean One CUCM cluster for Both sites, then you would actually need to do A,B and C, but you would use site codes with Translation Pattern(and assign it to partition for one site and give it CSS to call the other site so that when it strips the site code it can only call the other site) , not the Route Pattern, I have just watched the CBT Nuggets video for CIPT2(for 642-457 exam) and in the #7 Video Jeremy actually explains this situation;
    BUT if the situation is that both sites have their own CUCM cluster (but how can we guess) then the only option is A – site codes with Route Patterns and digit stripping the site codes.

  3. Site codes are not part of the extension. They are only used to distinguish different site each other.
    Anyway the first part of the question creates confusion (“An organization with a centralized dial plan has user extensions as the last four digits of the external DID number.”). To be reachable from PSTN, users should have their extension number formed as follow: 1 digit for site code + 3 digit for extension number.

  4. ‘A’ says to use site codes, but that would require changing user extensions and the question states “fixes the issue without changing user extensions”

  5. A is the answer.

    If you place extension in different partitions or CSS you will still have this overlapping problem when “allowing users to call each other across sites” So using CSS or partition will not solve the problem. They still need to call across sites. So B and C are not good.

    D is no good because the question specify: “Which action fixes this issue without changing user extensions”
