how would pinging show that you are blocking telnet? 2 different port #’s.
I believe the implication here is that ONLY the types of traffic listed in the description should be blocked and that everything else should be allowed. A ping would verify that other traffic is reaching the server instead of being blocked by the implicit deny any any at the end of the acl.
