If you configure one router in your network with the auto-cost reference bandwidth 100 command, which effect on the data path is true?
A. The data path remains the same for all links.
B. The data path changes for 10 Mbps links only.
C. The data path changes for all links.
D. The data path changes for 10 Gbps links only.
Can we assume that the company has left every link on the router at default bandwidth settings?
– If yes, then the answer is A.
– if no, then the answer is C.
In my 25 years of IT exam taking experience, I would say we cannot assume that the current bandwidths are set to defaults. As such, Answer C is the correct choice.
A is right because “auto-cost reference bandwidth 100” is the same as the default.
Agreed. Answer is A
I would say C.
It will change the data path (cost) of that link which will influence all other links in that network.
Because of that reoptimisation (dijkstra in this example) will maybe choose some other “better” paths.
