Upgrade from Lync Server 2013 to Skype for Business Server 2015 using the following steps:
Back up all databases before the upgrade.
Make sure all services that are to be upgraded are in a running state.
Upgrade and publish the topology file using the topology builder.
Stop all services on all Front End servers.
Install new prerequisites required for Skype for Business Server.
On each Front End server, start the In-Place Upgrade.
When the upgrade is complete, restart all services.
