The ‘dynamic auto’ will configure the port to accept incoming negotiation and will accept becoming either a
trunk or an access port. Dynamic Auto allows the port to negotiate DTP (Dynamic Trunking Protocol) if the
other side is set to trunk or desirable. Otherwise it will become an access port
Certainly , as explained above C is the correct answer since ‘compatible’ means accepting the mode i.e if trunk and then end result = trunk, if access , end result = access , if desirable then end result = desirable. Lets not make it complicated.
If anyone is making it complicated then its Cisco. According to your example, Dynamic Desirable Mode would also produce the same results (if trunk then end result = trunk, if access then end result = access , if desirable then end result = desirable). And according to Cisco and not just my own opinion see table 3-8 for proof:

Maybe this question wanted to ask “if the other end is configured with trunk/access/desirable mode” then which mode is compatible so that the link can work?
In that case both “dynamic auto” and “dynamic desirable” modes are correct. The main difference between these two modes is “dynamic auto” is PASSIVELY waiting for the other end to request forming a trunk while “dynamic desirable” will ACTIVELY attempt to negotiate in order to convert the link into a trunk.
Both modes are compatible with trunk, access, and desirable ports. Not to mention that dynamic desirable is seen as the default configuration for newer Cisco models. The answer should be both C and D.
