  1. I don’t see how the answer could possibly be UEFI. I have found zero documentation anywhere that suggests the answer is UEFI. I think the answer is NFS, since this is a remote boot option that allows booting from a remote iso image, per Red Hat.

    https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/6/html/installation_guide/ap-admin-options

HOWEVER, the question does say you are installing this on a bare metal system and in order to use the NFS installation method, you’d need to boot from a Red Hat DVD or USB device and modify the install location from the boot menu options, so I”m not sure that would be considered “bare metal”. If “bare metal” means no optical media or USB boot devices, then I guess it would be PXE boot.

    1. Also, my Linux+ All-in-One book mentions remote installation via ISO files using either HTTP, FTP, or NFS. There is no mention of UEFI for remote install options.

  2. The right answer is UEFI because you are booting from a DVD and this can be done remotely by accessing the system remotely via IPMI console.

  3. C. NFS Correct. I think NFS is capable of booting from a remote DVD.
PXE enables a client to retrieve the necessary boot loader and system files from a server over the network but not from a remote DVD.

    1. The question says “Boot from a remote device as if it was a DVD”… not from a DVD. PXE boot is how you do it remote from a server.

    1. Yes, PXE enables a client to retrieve the necessary boot loader and system files from a server over the network.
