    1. My thought process is that SSH (Secure Shell) is more for remote access, whereas TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol) is for transferring files, which is what you need to transfer firmware files from the FTP server to the Switch.

      Source: have CCNA and had similar questions regarding upgrading firmware on switches and routers that involved using FTP.
