    In this question it asks which of the following tools should be utilized to BEST facilitate labeling the patch panel.

    Theoretically both can be used. Having used both, I can say that the tone generator works the best – but Im not COMP-TIA

  2. I think the key word here is “cabling has been run and terminated” which means it is already punch down to a plug.
    Also since it is saying ” only the wall ports have been labeled” to me it means that cabling is all done and finished.
    If the cables are already in the wall and no access to the cable, the best way would be to use the Cable tester.
    One end of it on the wall that has the label and the then test one cable at the time in the IDF to see which one would pass all 8 for that wall plug which has the label.
    I think B is correct.

  3. This should be a tone generator. Cable tester will only tell if a cable is good, not where it leads.

    1. Unless they are talking about cable tester with multiple numbered adapters that connect to one end and you just test the other end to see which is where. I used something like this when working for AT&T installing Uverse.
