  1. B – Requirement: “BEST choice to help the new team member learn bleeding-edge techniques.” Bleeding-edge comes from using “leading edge” or “cutting edge” technology. Technology so new, it bleeds the company with cost and efforts to defend it.
    A. Attend hacking conventions. (no, are there conventions everyday at your location?)
    B. Research methods while using Tor. (yes, use anonymous Tor browser to research on the web.)
    C. Interview current red team members. (maybe, but no guarantee red team knows because it’s very new leading edge vulnerability.)
    D. Attend web-based training. (maybe, if this web based training is very new.)

So B, the best bet to know more about this leading-edge technique is to do your own research.

    1. I agree with StudyB…

Tor, short for ‘The Onion Router’, is an open source privacy network that permits users to browse the web anonymously. Tor was initially developed and solely used by the US Navy to censor government communications before the network was made available to the public

    2. You’re assuming way to many things to tilt this in your favor, man. The question is not talking about the cost-effective solution, plus, what if your fw specialist sucks at research? What if he does not find the right info on Tor? Also, you are assuming that this is time sensitive, again, the question does not say that. The answer is A.

  2. Got to be A. C will most like present the same old techniques used before, hacking conventions allow the new team member to learn new techniques.

  3. IMHO it could be A or C.
In real life, to train a skilled technician (FW specialist), the company would first put him in contact with the current members of red team to be trained adequately. Hacking conventions would surely help, but I can’t image the company waiting for the next convention to have the employee trained with the latest techniques.
    Dubious questions for me.
