The Cisco Telepresence Codec C90 is unable to call the Cisco IP Video Phone. Assuming that the calling search space has been configured correctly, which of these can cause this issue?
A. The Cisco Telepresence Codec C90 can only be registered to a Cisco Telepresence Video Communication Server.
B. A multipoint control unit is required in order for the call to work.
C. The Cisco Telepresence Codec C90 can only be registered as a SIP endpoint to Cisco Unified Communications Manager. H.323 is not supported.
D. URI dialing has not been configured on Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
E. The Cisco Telepresence Codec C90 Profile 1 > CallSetupMode must be configured as a gateway since Cisco Unified Communications Manager does not have a gatekeeper functionality.
F. The Cisco Telepresence Codec C90 is not registered as a SIP endpoint on Cisco Unified Communications Manager. The Cisco Telepresence Codec
C90 needs to be registered as both SIP and H.323.

  1. I disagree that the answer is C. Yes only SIP is supported when registering to CUCM and if you look at the screenshot they are using the SIP protocol so that would not be the issue. I agree with Anonymous that it is not asking about registration it is asking about call failure but a reason a call would fail is that it is not registered.

If you look the C90 has a status of “Unknown” so that means it is not registered. If it is not registered then it will not be able to place calls.

In my opinion, the answer is F

    1. Actually, I don’t know what the answer is because the Unkown status is normal for some SIP endpoints, it does not necessarily mean it is not registered. I will have to get my hands on a C90 to do some testing. If anyone knows the right answer please respond.

  2. Ok, the codec can only register to cucm via SIP, but the question says: unable to call and NOT unable to register.
So i think that if you specify GATAWAY it means that the other machine is a h323 peer, so you can call it.
In my opinion a part of the configuration on cucm is missing (the trunk h323 pointing to the codec).

  3. Answer is C,

    Cisco TelePresence TC software-based endoints:
These include the former TANDBERG endpoints and codecs such as the EX series endpoints (EX60, EX90), the
C series codecs (C20, C40, C60, C90), and the Cisco TelePresence MX and SX series codecs. These are all capable of registering to VCS (H.323 or SIP) or CUCM (SIP).
