Which two components are required to configure a TCP/IP connection? (Choose two)
A. Subnet mask
B. DHCP address
C. Host address
D. Domain name
This question can kinda go two different ways but first, to configure a TCP/IP connection a subnet mask is always required. Now the two ways I mentioned are due to wordage in the given question and available answers. A host address does refer to an IP address but technically so does DHCP as it is the process of converting an IP address into a domain name and vice versa. If DHCP was not a possible solution then Host Address (C) and Subnet Mask (A) would be the correct answer. If Host Address was not a possible solution then DHCP address (B) and Subnet Mask (A) would be the answer. I’ve seen the question sometimes not even use host address and just say IP address in which case the answer would still be IP address and Subnet Mask. If host address and IP address isn’t an answer but DHCP is then the answer is still DHCP and Subnet Mask. I hope this somewhat helps but I wanted to break it down without going into too much detail as I’ve seen this question phrased in multiple different ways an i usually got it right with this logic. Have a good day everyone!
Also just to clarify why DHCP is the answer, usually, is because DHCP is a direct conversion from Domain Name Service and IP addresses and vice versa. A regular host address or ip address is needed yes but to configure a “connection” which would be like trying to get to youtube from a google search browser meaning google goes to search for the IP address of YouTube but it doesn’t pop up the IP address just the name of YouTube because DHCP converted the IP address of YouTube to it’s Domain Name. Therefore DHCP would be used in configuring a TCP/IP “connection”.
i aint readin all that, good for you/sorry that happened
