Which two statements about syslog logging are true? (Choose two.)
A. Messages are stored external to the device.
B. The size of the log file is dependent on the resources of the device.
C. Syslog logging is disabled by default.
D. Messages can be erased when the device reboots.
E. Messages are stored in the internal memory of the device.
the question doesnt specify if its in reference to internal or external logging…….
A. Messages are stored external to the device….. Correct if logging externally
B. The size of the log file is dependent on the resources of the device……Correct for internal and external logging
C. Syslog logging is disabled by default. Correct, for internal or external
D. Messages can be erased when the device reboots…..Correct if logging internal
E. Messages are stored in the internal memory of the device…..Correct if logging internal
More confusion from Cisco….why so vague…. Makes you wonder
A & D are correct. however, E can be a correct option too.
I think the answer is A & C
Reminder, the question is about syslog

Syslog Server logging: Send log messages to a remote syslog server. By using this we can send messages to an external device for storing this log and the storage size does depend on the available disk space of the external syslog server. This option is not enabled by default.
It all depends how one interpreted the word device in the answers
Which two statements about syslog logging are true? (Choose two.)
A. Messages are stored external to the device. ( I consider device to be the switch or router, the external would be the syslog server, so this is true)
B. The size of the log file is dependent on the resources of the device. (if device is router or switch, it does not matter per the cisco article, we are sending to a syslog server)
C. Syslog logging is disabled by default. (True from the cisco article)
D. Messages can be erased when the device reboots. (if device is router or switch, yes logs will be erased, but since it was sent to the syslog server, this answer does not apply)
E. Messages are stored in the internal memory of the device. (if device is router or switch, yes logs will be erased, but since it was sent to the syslog server, this answer does not apply)
Well A and D is the correct answer.
A & C. unlike logging console syslog is disabled by default remember to enable it you use this command in global config logging host Server_IP ,therefore this is a clear indication that syslog is disabled by default.
A and C
Another post which show D & E as correct answers
https://community.cisco.com/t5/networking-documents/how-to-configure-logging-in-cisco-ios/ta-p/3132434
correct answer is D & E …..Logging is enabled by default and displayed on console
D. Messages can be erased when the device reboots.
E. Messages are stored in the internal memory of the device.

A & C
Syslog— Use a UNIX-style SYSLOG protocol to send messages to an external device for storing. The storage size does not depend on the router’s resources and is limited only by the available disk space on the external syslog server. This option is not enabled by default.

i don’t know exactly the correct answer but , i think if we choose “A. Messages are stored external to the device.”
as one of the correct answers then we have to choose “D. Messages can be erased when the device reboots.”
because we are talking about an external syslog server.
and if we choose “C. Syslog logging is disabled by default.” we have to choose “E. Messages are stored in the internal memory of the device.” because we are talking here about a local syslog.
