The exhibit shoes three static routes.
Which routes will be used to route the packets to the destination IP address 172.20.168.1?
A. The route with the ID number 2 and 3.
B. Only the route with the ID number 3.
C. Only the route with the ID number 2.
D. Only the route with the ID number 1.
Definitely, D don’t have the destination and priority fool you the first thing the device will look at is the closest destination address. In this case, is the 172.20.168.0/24 which will take precedence over all the other variables
Answer is D!!! Lognest prefix match!
A more specific route always has precedence so I think it should be : D
I’ve tested it.
WAN1 = Distance-10, Priority-10
WAN2 = Distance-5, Priority-20
and checked on Monitor>Routing Monitor
my LAN uses WAN2 as default gateway.
So Distance precedence over Priority.
Answer is A.
Distance takes precedence over priority.
If multiple routes to the same destination have the same priority but different distances, the route with the lowest distance is used.
If multiple routes to the same destination have the same distance but different priorities, the route with the lowest priority is used.
If multiple routes to the same destination have different distances and different priorities, the route with the lowest distance is always used even if it has the highest priority.
wrong! only D! the most specific is choosen
