  1. C and D are correct. Pluggable databases are not just used for database consolidation. Each pluggable database can be used for very separate and independant applications.

    Also in a multitenant architecture, patching is done at the instance level (CDB), so patching of the pluggable databases underneath the CDB are all patched together.
