Correct Answer: A

Explanation:
The EXP24S is a "simple" 24-bay SAS disk drawer. It doesn’t have any local SAS controller technology or PCI adapter slots. The EXP24S is configured on Power E870/E880 servers using feature code #5887. The EXP24S is two rack units (2U) in size and has two (redundant) power supplies. The 24 disk bays utilize hot-plug, Small Form Factor-2 (SFF-2) drives. Both hard disk drives (HDD) and solid-state drives (SSD) are available. The EXP24S will be pre-configured by IBM manufacturing to operate in one of the following modes:
Mode-11 string of 24 disk bays
Mode-22 strings of 12 disk bays
Mode-44 strings of 6 disk bays
The mode is specified using a no-charge feature code when the EXP24S is ordered. The EXP24S mode is not changeable after the EXP24S has shipped. HDD and SDD drives can be intermixed within the EXP24s, but must be on separate disk strings. For the most flexibility, Mode-4 is recommended as it provides boot support for up to four VIOS. In Mode-4, each of the disk strings will have six disk bays. This allows each VIOS to have mirrored disk drives for normal operations, mirrored drives for alt_disk_install upgrade and two spare disk bays.
