  1. C. Single-tenancy PaaS
Guess what through people off is “…and require a capital investment in hardware.” They didn’t say whether it’s DB Server or Firewall or IDS. It could be any new hardware. Take this hardware out and it becomes simpler. We need to save money and host the DB in the cloud. That means using Single-tenancy PaaS (Platform as a Service).

  2. Agreed, C

A is incorrect because Software as a service is not suitable.
B and D are incorrect, you don’t want infrastructure as a service, your CIO requested that you find a vendor that specialises in hosting large DB’s in the cloud. This makes it unsuitable.

C is correct, Platform as a service allows the Enterprise to make use of the database platform.

    1. I disagree. The statement also says “The new application will have a large database and require a capital investment in hardware.” This tells me they are buying hardware and having someone else host it.

I think the correct answer is B. Hybrid IaaS.

      1. Things we need
        – Save Money
        – Reduce reliance on the datacenter

        Hints
        – Large Database and new hardware costs.
        – Specialize in hosting large databases in the cloud

        Options
A – Multitenancy SaaS – Throw away answer, it’s not a software problem.

B – Hybrid IaaS – “The new application will have a large database and require a capital investment..” Seems to support this however – This could possibly read as this is what they want to do(have a split up operation). Or it could read as the variable that facilitated the change towards the new option whatever that be, not some sort of preference towards one option or another.

        C. Single Tenancy PaaS – The only option that supports vendor specialization on databases. Think Oracle, Azure, Google, all PaaS.

        D. Cant think of any advantages to community. So no.

Overall I’m with Sandman on this one. The specialize line is to strong imo. Really hard question though.
