Business analysis bridges the gap between which two disciplines?
A. Business Case Definition and Requirements Analysis.
B. IT Systems Analysis and Acceptance Testing.
C. Requirements Analysis and IT Systems Development
D. Strategic Analysis and IT Systems Analysis.
Correct answer: B? Strange… Acceptance Testing is not a discipline, but rather an activity or phase within IT solution development and delivery cycle. I went for “D”, because in a recommended textbook by Debra Paul et al., Chapter 1, topic “The scope of business analysis work”, Figure 1.2 “The potential range of the business analyst role”, we can clearly see, that a Business analysis, as a discipline, fits nicely between “Strategic analysis and definition” and “IT systems analysis”.
Business analysis is not exclusively concerned with IT Systems.
