This one is weird to me. Many E-readers are literally designed to be easily read in the sun. Such as Kindle and Nook which use E Ink technology.
I’m not sure how the answer would be a VR headset. Unless they are saying it’s because the displays are in an enclosure that is directly on your face, so lighting doesn’t really interfere. Or because the it uses IR sensors that track LEDs and I GUESS lighting wouldn’t affect that too much… idk
