  1. B – “Joe sees a valid SMTP server and port” — it says the server and port are valid – but it doesn’t say that the SSL/TLS box is ticked for the SMTP configuration. NOTE: POP3 is for incoming mail only, so will not help with sending mail.
    Not D — If airplane mode is enabled on your mobile phone, that means cellular, WiFi, and Bluetooth functions are disabled – so you will not receive new email. But the question doesn’t specify if Joe is able to view NEW email. Makes a huge difference. If only able to view OLD mail then (D) is correct. If able to view NEW mail then (B) is likely correct.
    Not C — if the account password was invalid Joe wouldn’t be able to view his email, old or new.
    Not A — POP3 is for RECEIVING email not SENDING email – “receives an error message when trying to send a message”

    1. Completely Agree. SMTP will work the same way on POP3 or IMAP, and he can receive messages, so it is not the protocol.
