How can you configure VCS Expressway to make sure an external caller cannot reach a specific internal address?

How can you configure VCS Expressway to make sure an external caller cannot reach a specific internal address?
A. You add a search rule to block any call to the specific URI on the internal VCS Control.
B. VCS Expressway only forwards calls to Cisco Unified Communications Manager who block calls.
C. You add the specific URI in the firewall section of the VCS Expressway and block it.
D. You block the call with search rule that has a high priority in the VCS Expressway. You make a transform on the VCS Expressway to direct the call to VCS
Control, which can block the call.

  1. How can you configure VCS Expressway to make sure an external caller cannot reach a specific internal address?

    B. VCS Expressway only forwards calls to Cisco Unified Communications Manager who block calls.
    C. You add the specific URI in the firewall section of the VCS Expressway and block it.
    D. You block the call with search rule that has a high priority in the VCS Expressway.
    E. You make a transform on the VCS Expressway to direct the call to VCS Control, which can block the call.

I do not know what is the answer because personally I would do it with Call Policy. Search rules are matched by destination and not calling party, with firewall you can block IPs and subnets, VCS Expressway does not communicate with CUCM (VCS Control does). So in an exam I would choose E but because you must choose one answer 😀

    1. Sorry , I would choose D. You can transform to something which blocked on VCS-C but strictly speaking with transform you do not direct call. Maybe this is the key to the solution.

      1. The best practice is with Call Policy, but if I had to choose one of these answers, it would be D.
