  1. This answer is only correct because of the “please pick the least stupid answer” strategy that you need to adopt when taking Cisco tests.

    “Auto Discover = Off” simply stops the VCS responding to multicast Gatekeeper discovery requests. If an endpoint is configured in the normal way (i.e. with the IP or FQDN of the VCS), it will still register ‘automatically’.

Although I agree with you on the statement and mentality of Cisco testing and answers, Cisco has ALWAYS separated Automatic with Manual in the sense that, Manual requires you to enter specific fields like an IP address or FQDN. Automatic on the other hand is a device that is “found”, “discovered”, or falls in line with a general setting, and configures itself (like auto-registering phones).
