Refer to the exhibit. Which three statements about the output are true? (Choose three.)
A. An mrouter port can be learned by receiving a PIM hello packet from a multicast router.
B. This switch is configured as a multicast router.
C. Gi2/0/1 is a trunk link that connects to a multicast router.
D. An mrouter port is learned when a multicast data stream is received on that port from a multicast router.
E. This switch is not configured as a multicast router. It is configured only for IGMP snooping.
F. IGMP reports are received only on Gi2/0/1 and are never transmitted out Gi2/0/1 for VLANs 10 and 20.
I believe that if this this switch is configured as a multicast router, then under ports you would just see “Router”, not a port which connects to a multicast router.
The correct answers are: A, C, and E
Just tested it in a lab: you would just see “Router” if the switch at hand is the only PIM router in the vlan.
you would see only “Gi2/0/1 (dyanmic)” if there is a multicast router connected on Gi2/0/1 AND the local switch is not configured for mulicatst routing.
But if the local switch IS configured for multicast routing, AND there is another multicast router connected on Gi2/0/1, you would see “Gi2/0/1 (dyanmic), Router” as in the exhibit.
A,B,C are correct.
D indeed is false, because the entry appeared in the igmp snooping table before sending any traffic to the multicast group.
