When the engineer makes a test call to the number 1-400-400-9000 from that phone, the call goes through. What is the reason for this issue?

A phone is assigned to a partition that is included in the CSS HQ-Phone. This partition contains a route pattern to block calls to service numbers 1-400-xxx-xxxx.
When the engineer makes a test call to the number 1-400-400-9000 from that phone, the call goes through. What is the reason for this issue?
A. The route pattern for the number to be blocked is in partition not accessible to the CSS.
B. The correct route list is not selected in the route pattern for the dialed number to be blocked.
C. The correct gateway is not selected for the route list for the route pattern for the dialed number to be blocked.
D. The route pattern for the number to be blocked is in "NULL" partition.

  1. It’s the CSS which determines what partitions are used, there is no mention of what CSS the phone has assigned, only the partition it is in, which only determines who can reach it, not what it can reach.

    So it must be A

  2. I did a test calls from my lab

and I think the only option regarding the bad spelling of the question is that Route pattern is misconfigured

with route option : Route this pattern

    Results Summary
    Calling Party Information
    Dialed Digits = 914004009000
    Match Result = RouteThisPattern
    Matched Pattern Information
    Called Party Number = 14004009000
    Time Zone = America/Mexico_City
    End Device = GW_SPconnet
    Call Classification = OffNet

with route option: Block this pattern: Call Rejected :

    Results Summary
    Calling Party Information
    Dialed Digits = 914004009000
    Match Result = BlockThisPattern
Route Block Cause = Call Rejected
    Matched Pattern Information
    Called Party Number = 14004009000
    Time Zone = America/Mexico_City
    End Device = GW_SPconnet
    Call Classification =

correct answer : E. The route pattern is misconfigured.

  3. This question is so badly written it’s hard to know whether the correct answer is A or E.

    This text is terrible:

“A phone is assigned to a partition that is included in the CSS HQ-Phone. This partition contains a route pattern to block calls to service numbers 1-400-xxx-xxxx.”

Phones aren’t assigned to partitions. If you assume this means:

“A phone is assigned the CSS HQ-Phone which contains a partition for a route pattern to block calls to service numbers 1-400-xxx-xxxx.”

Then that would seem to rule out A which leaves E as the only possible answer.

  4. I would also go for E,
On the Route Pattern the Route Option > Block this Pattern is probably not set.

  5. The route pattern is configured right. In the question don’t say anything about what CSS is used by the line or the phone, so the call don’t match the blocked route pattern. Right answer is A
