  1. The correct answer es CD.
C: I think everyone agree with this one.
D: A madure Scrum looks for increasing the efficiency of the Scrum Team because Scrum is based in Lean Thinking and Empirism. In the retrospectives Scrum Team inspects itself for send more outcomes to the client with less effort for the team. That’s is the 10th agile principle. And when we are Scrum, first we must be agile or we will not get the excellent results that Scrum can give us.

B: As the Scrum Guide says about “Sprint Backlog” (page 12): “If the work turns out to be different than they expected, they collaborate with the Product Owner to negotiate the scope of the Sprint Backlog within the Sprint without affecting the Sprint Goal.” So DevTeam cannot add new items to the Sprint Backlog without negotiate with the PO.

  2. Velocity is not necessarily increased so long that performance/quality of the work remains the same.

  3. Dev Team decides what goes into the sprint backlog.

PO orders the product backlog and Dev Team pulls from there into the sprint backlog depending on their capacity.

Velocity is amount of work done per time. Dev team commits to giving their best. PO ensures he derives the greatest value from them by ordering the backlog in such a way. Scrum master facilitates and promotes ways of achieving just that so that more work is done e.g. by removing impediments and promoting better work practices, etc. So as a conscious end goal, increasing velocity is more of a role of the scrum master.

  4. I am not sure BC is the correct answers as the team does not pull from product backlog but from the sprint backlog instead. I believe velocity is being monitored so it can be increased and solutions might come to increase it right ?

      1. Velocity is the number of stories or tasks that can be completed in a sprint. The sprint backlog comes from the product backlog. The Dev team creates the sprint backlog by pulling out stories from the product backlog.

    1. BC is correct. According to scrum guide, dev team should be responsible on pulling PBI that will be included in the sprint.

    2. Team pull item from PBL to put them on SBL, with the guidance of the PO who propose a Sprint goal discussed with all the Scrum Team during the sprint planning.
The team do the work needed (ref to the DoD) on item in the SBL during the sprint. They even can add some work during the SBL as long as it match the Sprint goal in the item selected (work is emergent even in a sprint). When the sprint goal is attained, they can work with the PO to pull other stuff if the timebox of the sprint isn’t finished.
